With over two dozen years’ experience in the renewable energy sector, Anewable Resources’ founders have managed projects throughout the country and through every phase of development and pre-construction, a wealth of knowledge that is among the most valuable resources we have to offer.
Betty is our co-founder and client liaison and land agent manager. She graduated from Iowa State University’s College of Agriculture with a B.S. in Food Technology. Supervising departments with as many as 45 employees and budgets of over one million dollars, her twenty years as manager of Quality Assurance/Quality Control for major food companies including Pillsbury, Sara Lee, Dial Corp., Rich Products, and Tyson, culminated in the creation and implementation of numerous process improvement and cost saving projects, endeavors that led her to be featured in a major food industry publication demonstrating the value of quality being profitable. Her responsibilities included interacting with the USDA, FDA, ingredient suppliers, contract warehouses, buyers, and end users.
In 2007, Betty shifted her focus to the development of clean, renewable energy. Working in the renewable energy industry sector, Betty has leveraged her experience, managerial expertise, can-do attitude, attention to detail, trustworthiness, and ability to interact with a diverse range of individuals to achieve a lengthy record of successful results securing land leases and site control for wind and solar energy development.
From October, 2017 to February, 2019 Betty managed client relations and land agent recruitment and placement for Land Agent Services, LLC. During that time, she expanded the company’s roster of agents, and obtained new clients, writing project proposals and setting budgets, helping to grow the company.
Betty resides in a log cabin along a river in rural Northeast Missouri, three miles from the farm she grew up on and recently purchased. If you happen to call Betty next summer, she says she will keep her phone on and with her at all times, as she may be ‘out standing in the field’.
The head of our IT and Contracts department and a Field Agent, Andy graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Communications Studies and worked as a property claims adjuster in the insurance industry before going green as a land agent and contract writer in 2007. A multiple award-winning author who is perpetually writing something or another, Andy started a publishing company, Quartersawn Books, in 2009, having written (under a pen name) “The Claim Game: A Homeowner’s Guide to Surviving an Insurance Catastrophe,” a how-to guide for homeowners. Needless to say it did not sell millions of copies, however every printing has sold out.
Ever trudging through The Great American Novel in his spare time, Andy has developed other skills that have enhanced his work as a Land Agent and Contract Writer, including graphic design and content editing.
In late 2015 Andy purchased a former elementary school and has been working to remodel its 28,000 square feet into a home and office space since then—he expects to be working on it in perpetuity or until his body gives out, whichever comes first.
